Yet Another True Story About Stupid Studies:

Is the following true or false?

It took the Nebraska Supreme Court to determine that a tire company and an automobile manufacturer were not liable (i.e. required to pay someone because of) for the rape and death of a woman who got a flat tire and was then accosted by a man who stopped, pretending to be a good samaritan.

[This is true. Now, while the Nebraska Supreme Court shows obvious wisdom, no, obvious common sense in its decision, I have some questions for the lower courts, plaintiff's attornies, the plaintiff, and the defense]

Lower Courts: Hey meatheads, how did you not bounce this crap on a summary judgment motion?

Plaintiff's Attornies: Start taking correspondence courses. If you guys aren't disbarred for bring a suit like this, it would only make sense to defense lawyers and judges.

Plaintiff: Grab a copy of anything by Katherine Kubler-Ross, and do some reading. Move past anger and get on with grief and recovery, fercrisake!

Defense Attornies: (Lean forward for a dope slap.) WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? How did this last more than a minute?
