Ain't it the truth...

Tom, I mentally know what you mean...

Operating under the agreement that the tragic death of Milena Del Valle is not a laughing matter, but that life, usually, and politics always, are, I share with you the continuing and ongoing, murdering and killing of our language and tongue by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Attorney General, Tom Reilly.

Loyal readers may recall that back in February 2005, Mr. Reilly, while talking and speaking about recovery of Big Dig cost over runs, insisted that contractors come up with "a solution that works." Apparently, Mr. Reilly is not finished and done with his repetitive redundancy and odd usage of the oddest of languages.

Yesterday, after examining the scene of Monday night's tunnel tragedy, Mr. Reilly announced that as many as 60 more ceiling bolts are problematic.

But, here we go... How did he know this?

You can visually see it! Yep, you can visually see it. That's what the AG said several times, in his interview with WCVB, aired on the 11 o'clock news.

This comes as a relief to the engineers who had been trying to tactilely feel, and auditorily hear any problems. Other workers were verbally told they could stop trying to olfactorily smell or, in the most awful of all jobs, trying to gustatorily taste the suspect hardware.

Other workers, and many linguists, remained steadfast in their determination to... see things a different way.
