Babysitter Charged After 2-Year-Old Found Wandering In Derby

...as well she should have been. Any civilized person knows that proper wandering attire for a toddler is a fedora or scally cap. Good Heavens! What has happened to society?

Rod Stewart "got his voice back?"

Rod Stewart has gone to trial, regarding his non-return of a 2 Million dollar deposit for a concert that was scheduled, but then cancelled by him. Instead of returning the deposit (as he should have, immediately) he wants to, years later, reschedule the show, claiming that he now has his voice back.

Stewart's lawyer told reporters the singer has been willing to reschedule and has offered to perform two shows for the price of one. "He is able and willing to do these concerts for them," said lawyer Louis Miller, adding the 60-year-old singer has performed over 200 concerts since the May 2000 surgery that removed two tumors from his thyroid. One was malignant, Miller said. "It took him about 10 to 12 months to get his voice back," Miller said.

10 to 12 months? Hell, I've been enduring Rod Stewart since Maggie May. That song, passable as it was, certainly gave no indication that he had a voice, and it was released some 35 or so years ago. Since then, it was all downhill: I did not Think [he was] Sexy and whatever Night he was croaking about was definitely not The Night. Since then, I couldn't even name a tune he's bleated.

Got his voice back? Next you'll be telling me Phyllis Diller got her looks back!

The End Of Cigarette Smoking is at Hand!

Who'dve ever thought that after adopting all the orphans in Southeast Asia, actress Angelina Jolie would have come up with the way to get the world to quit...
There is one thing that can make a smoker quit and that’s love – or sex in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s case. The sultry actress has allegedly given her new lover an ultimatum – cigarettes or sex – because she can’t stand the stench.

In an informal survey, 90% of all men asked, said they'd give up cigarettes in a New York minute, if they thought that would give them a better chance of bagging the Tomb Raider. Another 5% said it might take them a day. Surprisingly, 35% of women responded likewise.

Now if Pitt were to issue a similar ultimatum, that he would never have sex with a cigarette smoker, our survey got even more interesting. It seems that 95% of women, and 15% of all men surveyed said that increasing their chance of sex with Pitt would be worth snuffing the cancer sticks.

So there you have it, irrefutable proof that if the Jolie/Pitt team were to make a joint proclamation, cigarette consumption on planet earth would plunge.

Jimi Hendrix played gay to leave Army

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Jimi Hendrix, regarded as one of the greatest electric guitar players and known as a prodigious womanizer, lied about being gay to get out of the U.S. Army and pursue his true love -- music, according to a new biography of the rock legend

According to author Charles Cross, an 18 year old Hendrix enlisted in the 101st Airborne Division in 1961 as a court-offered alternative to jail for riding in stolen cars.

Although Hendrix always said he was honorably discharged after after breaking his ankle in a parachute exercise, Cross claims that

...military records showed he was discharged for homosexual tendencies. According to the records, he told the base psychiatrist he had sexual fantasies about his bunkmates, grew addicted to masturbating and was in love with a member of his squad.

He is also an excellent driver... Excellent driver

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is truly an amazing man, according to recent reports:

SEOUL (Reuters) - I remember all computer codes and telephones that workers are using now,' Kim was quoted as saying on the Web Site 'Uri-Min-jok-kiri' (www.uriminzokkiri.dprkorea.com), or 'Among our People.'

According to other legend, he's quite a marvel at phone book tricks too...

Kim surprised a group of North Korean officials attending a meeting in 2002 by recalling all their phone numbers 'with lightning speed,' the site said.

But his amazing prowess is not limited to simple parlor stunts...

On a day Kim visited a cemetery, he looked around at the tombs and he remembered the achievements, characteristics, tastes and bereaved family members for hundreds of the dead by a quick glance at the names on tombstones, it said. 'All the attendants were surprised at his incredible memory...

And ultimately, his powers are beyond mental alone, but verge on the miraculous side of physical and creative endeavors:

Kim pilots jet fighters, pens operas, produces movies and accomplished a feat unmatched in the annals of professional golf by shooting 11 holes-in-one on the first round he ever played. The Web Site said Kim told all workers they should develop their ability to memorize. 'The memory of a person gets better, uh-oh fart, when a person uses their brain often,' he was quoted as saying.

Speculation that he is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound will have to be left to another day.

When asked to comment on these feats, Kim said "Only five minutes to Wapner. Uh-oh," and then disappeared in a cloud of blue smoke. Korean interpreters were unable to explain the meaning of this apparently idiomatic expression.
